What’s new in Spare
This release introduces a rebuilt analytics platform powered by AI, Spare’s first fixed route offering, and a set of improvements across AI, demand response, asset management, and case workflows. You’ll see faster access to data, more automation in rider interactions, and better tools for managing daily operations—all in one platform.
💡 Note: These features are now available to all customers who already have access to the product package in Spare. Talk to your Spare rep if you want to learn more about a new product package.
DEMAND RESPONSE
AI-powered delay analysis: Understand delays without digging
Detailed trip timelines with AI-powered delay analysis. Understand delays without digging. Quickly understand why trips are late and reduce manual investigation.
Booking intelligence: Catch misbooked trips before dispatch
Spare now detects potential booking errors, such as incorrect pickup or dropoff locations, and surfaces them to dispatchers in real time.
Rider ↔ Driver location sharing: Real-time visibility for both sides of the trip
Riders and drivers can now see each other's real-time location on a map before and during a trip. Reduces missed pickups and gives riders more confidence in the service.
💡How to enable: Review your no-show policies before enabling in organization settings.
Note: If a rider disables location sharing, it stays off until the app is reinstalled or they manually re-enable it.
Fixed route anti-cannibalization (FRAC): Guide riders to the most efficient option
For Spare ONE agencies, you can now configure when riders see a fixed route option versus an on-demand trip in the Rider App. Nudges cost-conscious riders toward fixed route when it's nearby — reducing demand response costs without removing on-demand access.
💡 Note: This can meaningfully change the rider experience in some zones. Plan a rider communication strategy before enabling.
Other recent improvements
The following improvements are already available and will be automatically enabled on June 14, 2026. Talk to your PSM to enable earlier.
Watchlist on live map: Now the default panel, highlighting at-risk trips and flagged requests so dispatchers can act faster.
ArriveBy V2: Recurring trips automatically get arrive-by times based on fixed route equivalents for more consistent scheduling.
Drag and drop rematching: Reassign trips between vehicles directly on the Duty Schedule, no cancellations or rebooking needed.
Drop-off ASAP: Instantly reroute drivers to drop off riders sooner, without manual rescheduling.
Improved cancellation prompts: Cancelling an outbound trip now prompts cancellation of the return trip to prevent orphaned bookings.
Google Maps and live traffic integration: Google Maps and real-time traffic data are now built into the platform and Driver App for more accurate travel times.
FIXED ROUTE
Fixed route support — one platform for every mode you run
Fixed Route is now supported within Spare, allowing you to manage all service modes in one platform.
Why we built this: Customers reported that they were using multiple, separate systems for different service types, which led to disconnected reporting workflows.
