Parts are recorded against the task you fitted them to, not the job as a whole. That way the record shows what was actually used where.
Adding a part
Open the job, tap the ... on the task you are working on, then choose Add Part.
Step 1. Find the part.
Search by name, or scan its barcode. Each result shows the part number underneath so you can tell similar items apart.
If your organisation allows it, + Create New Part appears at the bottom of the results for something that is not in the system at all.
Step 2. Say how many you used.
Use the plus and minus buttons, then tap Add Part.
When the part shows no stock
Sometimes the part you are holding is not recorded as being in stock anywhere. You are not stuck.
The app tells you there is none on record and offers to sort it out, so you can still note down a part you are about to fit.
Choose where it came from. Pick the stores room or bay you are actually taking it out of.
⚠️ Pick the right place. The app updates the real stock count for wherever you choose, so a wrong choice leaves the numbers wrong for the next person.
Done. The part now sits under that task with the quantity you entered.
💡 If you do not see this option, your organisation has not switched it on, or your account is not allowed to change stock levels. In that case a part with no stock simply says none is available and you cannot go further. Ask whoever manages your EAM settings.
Why adding a part sometimes needs approval
Depending on how your organisation is set up, adding a part does one of two things:
It goes straight onto the job, and you carry on.
It creates a request, which someone in the stores approves before the part is counted as used. Some organisations approve these automatically.
You do not choose between these. It is set once for everyone. If you are waiting on a part that never seems to appear on the job, this is usually why.
The parts list and picking checklist
Tap the ... at the top right of a job and choose Parts List. It shows everything the job needs in one place: the part, how many, the part number, and which task it belongs to.
It is built so you can collect everything for a job in one trip to the stores instead of walking back and forth.
Tap a row to tick it off as you pick it up. A few things worth knowing:
The counter at the top counts individual items, not rows. Two out of four brake pads shows as two, not as a finished row.
Reset clears the ticks and starts again.
The ticks are only on your phone. Nobody else sees them, and they are not part of the job record. It is a shopping list, nothing more.
